OUR HISTORY AND PROFILE

The ministry of the New Hope Christian Missionary Baptist Church, Inc. was organized in July of 1969, by the late Rev. Malachi G. Baker. Rev M.G. Baker faithfully served as Pastor for over 26 years, and has left a profound legacy of dedication and unwavering commitment to ministry and the truths of God’s Word.

As a result of the teachings and example rendered by Rev. M.G. Baker, New Hope church developed a disposition and atmosphere that displays warmth and compassion which has always been inviting to many regardless of race, social class, or gender. We maintain such an atmosphere through a “Small Groups” ministry format that places and assimilates every member into a “Hope Group” for the purpose of spiritual  intimacy through corporate
prayer and relevant Bible study.

New Hope Christian M.B. Church, Inc. is an evangelical and orthodox Baptist church doctrinally. We are a member of the Greater New Era Baptist District Association of Chicago and Vicinity; a local association of the Baptist General State Convention of Illinois and the National Baptist Convention, USA; as well as the Illinois Baptist State Association, of the Southern Baptist Convention. We are a ministry that places the unadulterated and uncompromised teaching of the Holy Bible as preeminent. We believe that although our culture and society has become more and more “tolerant”, God remains intolerant in regard to sin.
New Hope is a family-conscience church, and places much emphasis on matters that affect the family unit. We believe that the concept of family was divinely created, and it is the responsibility of the Church to strive to preserve it at all costs. We believe that the ministry of New Hope church is well capable of meeting all of your spiritual needs. We hope to see you soon!
