"THE THREE-LEGGED STOOL"
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be
recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
(2 Corinthians 5:10)
The Holy Scriptures disclose to us a tremendously important truth, in that the sum total of the
Christian’s life is being monitored by our Lord for the purpose of distributing rewards reflective
of the Believer’s life activity on earth prior to our Lord’s return. This Great occasion is referred
to as the “Judgement Seat of Christ”, which is exclusively for Believers. The things regarded as
“good” will yield rewards and those things considered “bad” will not produce rewards
(1 Corinthians 3:11-15).
The question then that should resonate in the hearts of Christians should be: “what does the
Lord consider ‘good’ in terms of the activity of my life here on earth?” Imagine a three-legged
stool. Our lives (i.e. marriages, families, church, work, businesses, recreation, etc…) serving as
the “seat” of the stool. As Christians, the seat of our lives should rest on the “three legs” of
“The Great COMMANDMENT” (Deuteronomy 6:5; Mark 12:28-30)
“The Great COMMISSION” (Matthew 28:18-20)
“The Pursuit of CHRISTLIKENESS” (Romans 8:28-29)
There is no greater responsibility given us by our Lord than to live out every aspect of our lives
here on earth driven by our love for Him with our entire being, manifest through our expression
of that love towards others; steadfast commitment to the commission of making disciples of
Christ; and the relentless pursuit of growing in the image of Christ. May your life rest on these
“three legs” to the Glory of God and your abundant rewards in Eternity!!! THIS is the ministry
